FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JOURNEYS AVIATION FLIGHT ACADEMY & SAFERJETT FORM STRATEGIC ALLIANCE
BROOMFIELD, CO – April 2, 2009 – In a joint statement, Journeys Aviation Flight Academy and SAFERjett today announced the formation of a strategic alliance to provide comprehensive aviation pilot training targeting aspiring professional airline pilots. The training offered will encompass ab initio training through commercial pilot, and will include highly-specialized options for advanced multi-engine jet training leading to a Transport Category Type Rating. Delivered in a structured academy environment, the training will incorporate principles of the Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL) curriculum, the emerging standard for training commercial pilots of the future.
Both companies bring key experience and skills that enable the alliance to immediately provide training options not currently offered in the aviation training marketplace. Journeys Aviation combines over six years of ab initio training experience with excellent operational facilities and business management to deliver comprehensive ground and flight instruction. SAFERjett has years of experience in airline flight training, course development, and oversight in the FAA Part 121 environment. Their corporate roots include Part 121, Part 135 and Part 61 Crew Resource Management training (CRM), jet aircraft syllabus development and complex multi-engine pilot and maintenance training. Since both companies thus far have operated independently, their alliance enables the immediate availability of a number of aviation training programs, including:
Ø Professional Pilot Programs. Ab Initio training in a professional, academy environment.
Ø Advanced Performance Multi-engine Training. Jet training for professional pilots.
Ø MPL-Based Training. The Multi-Crew Pilot License standard is emerging as the future of professional aviation training.
“The combined experience of these two successful companies enables us to provide training curriculum unmatched in the industry,” said Cody Sutherland, President of Journeys Aviation Flight Academy. “Students who aspire to be professional pilots will benefit from the experience, management, and structured flight training programs created to deliver professional, innovative professional flight training for today’s commercial pilot.”
Scott Shutack, President of SAFERjett, said, “We are very excited to be able to provide unique offerings that truly embody the future of professional pilot training. Despite the recent downturn in the industry, the forecasted pilot shortage in the upcoming years is alarming. It’s critical that the historical methods of training be improved to train pilots in a manner that facilitates their smooth transition to airline operations. Our objective is to be relied upon as an extension of an airline’s training department.”
